VIETRI DI POTENZA – I genitori dei suoi bisnonni, Giustina Pascaretta e Anselmo Bello, sono nati a Vietri di Potenza, nel lontano 1844. Lui, Chris Bell, 48 anni, è nato a New York, sposato, vive a Pacifica, in California. Lui è il Senior Director Worldwide Product Marketing di Apple ed I Tunes (in parole povere, responsabile, a livello mondiale, del marketing di I Tunes, ed è un dipendente di spicco della Apple). E ieri mattina è giunto a Vietri di Potenza, non per affari, nemmeno per lavoro. Ma per un solo motivo: realizzare il sogno della sua famiglia, dei suoi genitori, e il suo: quello di conoscere i suoi discendenti, i suoi avi. E vedere sui registri anagrafe i nomi dei genitori dei suoi bisnonni. E il suo sogno si è avverato. Chris già da mesi si era messo in contatto, tramite facebook, con molti vietresi, che lo hanno aiutato, poi, in questo suo viaggio. Dopo mesi di ricerche, è giunto in paese, accolto calorosamente, come da sempre Vietri e i Vietresi fanno, ha subito raggiunto alcuni amici del posto, conosciuti su Facebook: Valentino, Tonino ed Emilio. E poi Pasquale e Gaetano. Per venire a Vietri ha “assunto” un traduttore, il signor Angelo, di Roma, che gli ha fatto anche da autista. Chris non parla italiano. E’ arrivato in Italia qualche giorno fa, con un aereo privato atterrato nella Capitale. Poi lo spostamento in terra lucana. Il tempo di sistemarsi in hotel, venerdì. Un po’ di riposo e poi subito a Vietri. Una giornata intera in paese. Prima in un bar. Ha conosciuto tante persone, poi è andato in vico storto del Popolo, nel centro storico di Vietri, per conoscere una sua parente. Una signora anziana, Giustina, di 98 anni. Chris ha voluto subito visitare la casa comunale. E’ entrato. Si è sbizzarrito nel fare foto. Poi, grazie al responsabile dell’ufficio anagrafe del Comune di Vietri, Rocco Buongermino, ha realizzato il suo sogno.

Ha visto scritto a mano, sui registri anagrafe, i nomi dei suoi avi. Chris, visibilmente emozionato e felice, ha detto, in inglese: “Per la mia famiglia è sempre stato un sogno vedere questo registro, ci siamo riusciti”. E poi, continuando, tra una chiacchiera e l’altra, ha detto: “La mia famiglia ed io siamo orgogliosi di essere originari di Vietri di Potenza. Grazie per aver realizzato il nostro sogno”. Chris poi ha visitato tutto il Comune. Tra una chiacchiera e l’altra, ha aperto la sua borsa, e ha mostrato foto in bianco e nero che ritraevano i suoi familiari, suo padre. I suo nonni. Poi, foto ricordo e pose sotto lo stendardo del Comune. Poi una passeggiata in paese, la conoscenza con il sindaco di Vietri, Carmine Grande. La foto ricordo e le parole del sindaco: “Ti aspettiamo ancora qui con tutta la famiglia”. Chris nella sua visita a Vietri ha fotografato davvero tutto. Segno di attaccamento, ed amore, per la terra natìa dei suoi avi. Poi ha pranzato, con gli amici di Vietri, in un agriturismo del posto. Poi ha chiesto di conoscere la musica popolare: in serata è stato accontentato in un’abitazione, con tante buone pietanze locali e musica popolare. Chris nei prossimi giorni ripartirà dall’Italia: destinazione Londra e Berlino, per lavoro. Con la promessa di ritornare un giorno, col resto della sua famiglia.
